Our Mission
Our purpose is to empower and equip men and women with job-readiness, job-preparedness and life skills classes, and in a missional context, to provide a place for others to volunteer so that participants, as well as our volunteers grow in their strengths and into their potentials. Our participants may be vulnerable in one or more areas, from being in generational or situational poverty, addiction recovery, incarceration, domestic violence, or sex or human trafficking. Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty for men and women and their families.
What We Do
We invest in the life of each participant. We understand it is a long-term investment for it can take 2-5 years for a person to break out of poverty. We call our participants, ‘protegees’ as we walk alongside each one to establish a mentoring relationship with that person. Goals are set through covenants, and we hold each person accountable to the goals they have selected. We help them learn to take one step at a time toward the ultimate hope and dream they hold. We are continuously evaluating and completing need assessments to make sure we are providing what is needed for each person to accomplish their goals. Our curriculum is determined by their needs. We have learned from our evaluations that one of the favorite classes is our weekly Bible Study. We advocate with them, as they learn to find their voice. We offer training and classes to each of our volunteers as well, to challenge them to grow into their strengths. At any moment, we may CELEBRATE the small things as well as the big things in life together!
